Project BIG Compost

The story of how a composting system with three bins in a community garden developed into a fully-fledged community composting facility:

It's a model project: biowaste is composted under the Queensborough Bridge in the heart of New York. UTV components are used in the process. The SG Mobile™ system from Sustainable Generation is helping to expand urban waste composting in New York. Sustainable Generation has miniaturised the GORE® Cover System so that it can be used in municipal composting facilities. Big!Compost installed the SG Mobile™ system at its 930 m² composting facility under the Queensborough Bridge in New York. As a test unit, green waste and biowaste were composted through our system.
