Project AWG Calw

At the Simmozheim and Walddorf waste disposal facilities, Abfallwirtschaft Landkreis Calw, or AWG for short, processes green waste into high-quality compost. Our composting process was installed in Simmozheim in 2014. This is our cost-effective UTV system, in which the green waste to be composted is aerated depending on oxygen and temperature and covered with a GORE® cover to ensure an optimised composting process. Quality-assured compost is produced in just 4 weeks of intensive composting and 2 weeks of secondary composting. Every year, approx. 4,000 tonnes of non-woody green waste are processed into quality-assured compost at a process temperature of approx. 60 - 70 degrees. The aim is to process all garden waste from the district of Calw in the district in order to close the cycle.
