The dry fermentation plant built by envia-THERM GmbH on the site of Tappe Kompost GmbH in Zwönitz in 2010 can process up to 12,000 tonnes of fermentation residue per year. This is used to produce electricity and heat for more than 1,000 households, as well as valuable compost.
