Project Kula

The Turkish city of Kula in the province of Manisa has been relying on our mechanical-biological waste pre-treatment (MBT) process since 2011. The volume of municipal waste sent to landfill can be reduced by up to 70 %. At the same time, a high calorific value fraction (RDF) of so-called substitute fuels and recyclable materials is obtained and a biologically stabilised material is produced by means of composting, which can be landfilled without any problems. Since commissioning, 10,000 tonnes of residual waste have been processed annually.
